LONG WEEKEND HIKE ON SHARA

WELCOME TO COLORFUL TETOVO
Welcome at Skopje airport Alexander the Great and transfer to Tetovo for a brief walking tour of the city and its historical heritage. You will visit the famous Painted “Alaya” mosque standing as an art canvas stretched in the middle of a rush city, and the colorful busy bazaar. You will also visit the Dervish convent Arabati Baba Teke and continue driving up in the mountains to 1730m height. Accommodation in the mountain hut placed in the monastery complex St Naum. Dinner and overnight in the hut.

TITO’S PEAK
After breakfast hike to Titov vrv (2747m) - named after Marshall Tito. This hike is an all-day tour full of great panoramic views of Sharr mountains and Jakupica mountain range, Pelister, Korab, and even Rila mountains in Bulgaria. Below the peak is probably the most beautiful area in Macedonia – the alpine style Leshnica area with pine trees, deep river valleys, and impressive overhanging rock faces. There is a circle path going steep in the beginning where you will hike over few other peaks. Descend back will be through the alpine meadows and local sheep farms back to the hut. Overnight in mountain hut.

LESHNICA & BOZOVCE VILLAGE
After breakfast start trekking down the forest road that takes us to Dolna Leshnica region. It is an easy 4-hour hike in an area of amazing pine forests and overhanging rock walls. Leshnica area has a truly alpine character that makes it one of the most beautiful places in Macedonia – a must see for every traveler. Our lunch break will be in Dolna Leshnica, by river Pena and we’ll continue walking another 2 hours to a picturesque mountain village Bozovce, where we’ll visit a local Albanian home for a cup of coffee. Transfer in the afternoon from Bozovce village to Skopje. Dinner with party and overnight in hotel in Skopje.

After breakfast transfer to Skopje airport for flight home. If you are leaving on a later flight, we can arrange a cable car ride / or a hike to the Millennium Cross on Mount Vodno rising from the center of the capital.
